Firstly a big thanks to everyone who posted many kind words on my other thread.

The vet came out this morning and Ruby behaved perfectly. He had an overall feel of her and asked how she was in herself etc. Walked and trotted her up and he said she was slightly lame on the right hind. FLexion tests followed and he said it was the right stifle that is causing the problems. Had another feel and said it was a bit tight and because of this Ruby is shortening her stride as she's struggling to use her joint properly. He wants to activate the stifle with steriod injections. So is coming back out on Fri, to sedate, clip the area and then inject her stifle. He will see how she goes but may need x-rays later on, but for now he thinks steriod injections are the way to go and perhaps a joint supplement in her feed (any suggestions?) she isn't on feed at the moment, but I can give her a handful of happy hoof to mix the supplement with.

I can ride her, but only on hard ground in walk. I will continue to do her stretches that the pysio gave me to do to.

So relieved to finally know what is wrong with her. Hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here!

Thanks again :) xx

So glad that you have something to go on, what a relief!
Ours get microionized linseed, brilliant stuff for the joints as it is full of omega oils. If you also want to add MSM and things, then naturalhorsesupplies do them as straights so you can be sure of what you are feeding, and not pay out a fortune for fancy boxes!

Just got back from yard.

Ruby had her first steriod injection today. She had one at the front of the joint and one behind the joint. Vet will be back out in 3 weeks, will watch her being trotted up and perhaps lunged and then decide what to do. He said another of his clients has this problem with their Horse and with steriod injections every sixth months the Horse is completly sound and able to work. So I'm hoping this is the case for Ruby to.

I've had to come back to work :(, so YO is watching over Ruby til I get back up after work. She's very dopey though :o
