Can anyone recommend who to use to insure My veteran horse? I had a quote from shearwater and it was very expensive, considering It’s only covering accidental external injury for veteran horses.
Thanks!

I have my 24 year old through Julie Andrews insurance broker. Can't remember what I pay for him now but it was the best one I found at the time.

I (reluctantly!) use Petplan. Just had my renewal and it's the same as last year. Shopping around for similar quote I'm getting figures of £100-£150 higher per year. It is only for injury, however, not illness, but I include my tack in with the policy. My boy is 21 and in light work, if that's relevant.

Petplan for the actual veteran as they are by far and away the cheapest.
SEIB for the non-veteran who is on the veteran plan as PP wouldn't do that for her. The SEIB policy does have a few nice fancy extras but not enough to really warrant the almost 50% extra premium in my view.

Petplan veteran is good and reasonable. I pay just under £10 per month with £1000 vet fees for accident only. (£145 excess).
