I am thinking of taking my old boy to do some Veteran Showing, he would be in the diamond category, but have no idea what to expect. Do you have to do an individual show, are the horses stripped down, what do i need to wear? Thought it would be a bit of fun! 🤣 Though now questioning my judgement. Any help gratefully received.

Its been a long time since I've done it but it was sometimes dependant on the show, but yes to an individual show and them needing to be stripped down. They did have some specific rules when I was doing it like no gallop in your individual or the go around, so worth checking the rules in case there is anything specific to be aware of. I always found them to be lovely series (think there were two when I was doing it with one having the final at Olympia I think) and great to see oldies out in great condition still.

I do a lot of veteran classes so happy to help. As above it varies re society and type of qualifier re stripping. No galloping. No jewellery. One society is no horse make up. It’s definitely read the rules. On the whole good fun and nice people.
