Are there any problems with feeding a supplement designed for veteran horses to a good doer leisure horse with no hard feed that isn't classed as a veteran (10 years oldish)? I'm asking because of this:http://www.tensupplements.co.uk/explore-our-range/senior-hooves It's fully balanced as a general supplement and alongside that it's a hoof supplement. Feeding this would be a lot cheaper than feeding the two separately.

I think the main thing I'm worried about is too much protein (can a supplement even have a lot of protein in?). It says it's 14% protein, which, in a feed, would be too much. But in supplement? I'm not sure. Would this be a problem, and are there any other problems with this as well?

I think it would be fine, supplement seems like its just been marketed for oldies with brittle feet

May have just been co-incidence but i gave Fabio some veteran supplement (he's by no means a veteran at 9 but got given it in a secret santa - bit of a weird gift as i had no veteran horses but hey ho! Decided may as well use when i ran out of my normal one) and he got a bit full of himself on it!! Like i say, might have been co-incidence but it stopped when i took him off it.

Hmm, could that be due to extra protein that isn't needed for the younger horse? That could mean that protein might be an issue...
