Are there any problems with feeding a supplement designed for veteran horses to a good doer leisure horse with no hard feed that isn't classed as a veteran (10 years oldish)? I'm asking because of this:http://www.tensupplements.co.uk/explore-our-range/senior-hooves It's fully balanced as a general supplement and alongside that it's a hoof supplement. Feeding this would be a lot cheaper than feeding the two separately.
I think the main thing I'm worried about is too much protein (can a supplement even have a lot of protein in?). It says it's 14% protein, which, in a feed, would be too much. But in supplement? I'm not sure. Would this be a problem, and are there any other problems with this as well?
