My mare has itchy bumps all over her saddle patch, which are driving her mental!! They are mostly on the right hand side of her saddle patch with a spattering of itchy bumps on the left hand side, but they are spreading with a couple on her neck & rump. She had some when I bought her and the old owner reckoned they were fly bites, but they are very slowly getting worse and 2 or 3 new ones seem to crop up when one heals!

Went to the South West Equine fair today and bought some of the Vetericyn spray to try on her. Has anyone else bought this product and what did you think?

Thanks

I was recommended it for my cob as nothing was working on his sunburnt nose, I started using the spray and noticed a difference in 2 days with it all cleared up a week and a half.
He wasn't so keen on me spraying it on his nose so had to spray on to a sponge 1st but wouldn't have thought u would have a problem on her back
I would say it's definitely worth a go

I bought some from badminton, my horse had taken off the back part of her foot and the salesman made it sound amazing. I didnt notice any difference, possibly because the wound was just too big for it, and as it was bandaged, i could only spray when the bandages were changed.
I have also used it on other wounds, but to be honest, I cant say i have seen any difference in the healing process.

It sounds pretty good and I picked up the leaflets about it as well. I have got to the stage where I am willing to try anything though, also as bearing in mind they are driving her mad with itching, she is still such a good girl under saddle. The funny thing is that the vet looked at her 3 weeks ago and just said wash the area down with hibi-scrub and don't ride her for 3 days (which I did) but it seems to have got worse since then poor girl! Have also bought her a cotton sheet to go under her rug and some more cotton Numnahs to help her skin breath.

Anyone tried Global herbs.. bumpy skin? I haven't don't know if its any good but if its an allergy or diet related which these things often are, maybe thats the way to go with a supplement as well as a spray and maybe and antihistamine which you could get cheap from boots? and a cotton/ lambswool saddle pad/ and making sure lots of air and no over rugging.. zap it from all angles.

Good luck hope it improves.

I'm a bit sceptical about these kind of things but I was given a free sample at Your Horse Live as the salesman was wanting more people to try it on sarcoids! I was dubious but with a treatment with Liverpool cream already tried and failed I figured it was worth a shot. He advised to pick the scab off and spray twice a day which I have done and to my amazement it is actually shrinking and healing over. You could knock me down with a feather :D but I will be buying a bottle when this one runs out...
