Vets and Farriers - Oxfordshire

I'm moving my horse to Oxfordshire later this month and was wondering if people could recommend any good farriers or vets?

My horse will be stabled in Waterstock, which is near Junction 8 of the M40, so I'm looking for a vet/farrier based near that part of Oxford (so South Oxfordshire, nearish the M40 and Bucks border). I don't need any remedial shoeing, so any good standard farrier is fine.

Also, how much does a set of shoes cost generally in the Oxon area? I'm used to paying £60 for a set where I used to live - is Oxfordshire about the same price as this or more expensive?

I would highly recommend Hampden Veterinary Group. www.hampdenvets.co.uk. excellent horse vets.

For farrier i use Dan Harman who is Crendon Farriery www.crendonfarriers.com I changed to them 3 months ago and cannot tell you the difference in my horses feet just in that short space of time. i pay £70 a set but worth every penny.

At Waterstock you will be well within both the vets and the farriers area.

Hi!

Another vote for Hampden veterinary and Crendon Farriers. When I sold my last horse the vet doing the 5 stage commented on how well he'd been shod.

My current horse has had to have remedial farrier treatment and Dan has been fantastic.
