Had the vet out tonight for jabs and to check Star over as still not right...

Done a general check, teeth, heart, trot up etc, all ok. Then flexion tests on hind limbs which showed up a problem/lamness on her right hind

He did it twice just to make sure but there was deffo a problem. Then watched her on the lunge to see her agression and unwillingness to work and again showed up a problem. He's thinking either hock problem or last resort PSD...knew i wasnt just being a paronoid women and her leg problem would be cuasing her back pain also!!! Sooo on a course of bute until next week to see what changes that makes then call him to follow up. He'll then either come and assess under saddle if still bad on bute but will deffo end up going in for scans/x-rays etc....:(

Lucky i checked my insurance today and she's covered loss of use etc. Sooo happy vibes please for my little girl, i knew there was a reason she wasnt happy

Any advice RE the PSD or hock issues would be helpful??? vet

Stay positive! If it is hock spavin/arthritis, it is not the end of the world. Plenty of horses go on to competitive lives with such conditions. PSD I don't know much about, but I believe if its diagnosed early can have a good outcome.

If its hock spavin as suggested earlier you can send me a pm if you need any info.I am going through it at the moment my horse has had surgery. You will know once she has had xrays hope the outcome is positive .Dont write her off yet.

PSD, if caught early, can not be the end of the world. plenty of horses come sound and stay sound afterwards. spavin is a pain while it's fusing, but then they tend to be ok, if slightly stiff in the hocks, but ok for normal work.
