So vet came to see my old boy today. We had a long chat and he agreed that he is poor but still very comfortable and happy. He thinks it is the cushings and we agreed on a months pergolide trial. We will reassess in a month (unless he deteriorates) and if he is looking better we will continue for the summer, he can go up on the top fields where there is decent grass as the pergolide should help to keep the laminitis at bay and we will set a date to pts in the Autumn. So hopefully a few weeks or maybe months of quality of life ahead.
We both agreed he will not go through another winter but having been nudged round the stable, the vet thought he wasnt really ready to go just yet, so worth trying to give him the summer.
