Vets been this morning. My horse has a Sarcoid thats not very big.I have cream for him,on every day for a week, then rest for aweek then start putting the cream on again for a week and so on until vet comes back in 4 weeks.
IF it doesnt work,we will be doing the Liverpool Cream.
Then will put claim into E&L .

dont forget to submit your first insurance claim within the 28 days of the first diagnosis. At least then they can not use that as an excuse not to pay .

E&L????

i'd be changing that ASAP...Many vets wont deal with animals insured with them.

and to claim for a sarcoid...why?

My filly started off with one visible sarcoid in April in a very similar place to the poohbears horse so I called out the vet and let my insurance company know (NFU) and now she has a dozen or so of the blighters. She's had two courses of Liverpool Cream and we're not sarcoid free yet. My vets bill to date is around £1100 as she had to be sedated for the second course of cream (4 visits) as she was having none of it! So yes treatment does add up a visit alone is £40 and I've had over a dozen of those to date. NFU have altered their policies so that if a horse has had a problem before even if you haven't made a claim for vets fees they won't pay out in future for that problem. At least this way I have up to £5k of vets fees available and hopefully Prof K will do his best to clear them up. Good luck with your horse poohbear, I hope the initial treatment works.

If you have any probs with E&L suggest that you may go to the papers. Thats what I had to do. Luckily my Mum had spotted an article about them in a scottish paper reported after someone had probs with them refusing to pay out so i advised them that i would go nationally. Maybe sounds harsh but had to be done and all i got out of them after that was £250 towards a £1000 bill. I cant change as my horse is 22 but if you change then i would advise it!!!
