What's the form with vets letting you have your horse's x rays?

I just ask as I have asked for some to show to a remedial farrier and they don't appear to be forthcoming!!

Just assumed if they were yours then you were allowed them!!

They're yours. Insist.

Suppose I'll have to!! Not ideal trying to get there in between doing school run and working which is why I asked for them to be emailed. I just want to share them with another farrier to ask his opinion on what has been suggested by my vet.

Yes I requested mine and had them emailed almost straight away. I them printed them, laminated them and showed them to my farrier who was involved with the treatment. Great to keep too!

I just called my vets for copies of my horses xrays, the receptionist told me it isn't an easy task and they aren't technically my property, they are the vets..... Funny as they cost me a small fortune??
How utterly ridiculous! So I insisted I wanted copies of them ;) Lets see how long this takes!!

I asked for mine and got them, though I sensed that they would have preferred to send them straight to a farrier/trimmer, and I was asked if my vet had ok'ed me having them. Still, it wasn't a big deal, and I got them fairly easily.

My vet sent mine to my email within minutes of request and also to my farrier. When my other horse had kissing spine I requested them and they sent them within hours. You should insist they send them to you. You paid for them!

My understanding was they are the property of the vet (even though you have to pay for them!)

But surely I don't see why they're making a big fuss. Your farrier wants them so he can shoe your horse appropriately. It's not like you want them for wall paper or something! Have you told them why you need them?

I've been given mine whenever I've asked, no problems at all, and the same with an MRI scan. Keep nagging until they pass them on. What's the point in paying for them after all, if they can't be used to your horse's advantage?

My vet isn't making a big fuss. I think they might be busy!!

I just wanted to know whether it is standard practice to be emailed them. Someone I spoke to said vets can be funny about letting you have them despite them being of your horse.
