Hi,
My poor 2 year old terrier x is feeling v sorry for herself today and since this morning has been hopping around on 3 legs. She seems to have hurt her hind leg, and I think she may have done it playing flyball yesterday - that is the only thing I can think off. The strange thing is though she was totally fine in the session and fine all of the rest of yesterday and last night, it is just since this morning.
She is very quiet and just lying in her bed, although I get her up every few hours to wander outside for the loo. I tried to see if she would walk a little bit to see if it would gradually go sound, incase it was just stiff but she just holds it tucked up and hops along on 3 legs - although she does occasionally put the foot down to pee, and doesn't squeak or wince.
I can't see anything wrong with her foot or claws and she is fine with us touching it all over - although tries to wiggle away.
I would take her straight to the vets and still might do, but it is just that she gets so worked up there I am worried that it will be just more stress if she has something that might just be a sprain or sore muscle. Does anyone have any ideas - is it usual for a major injury to be totally fine one day and then come on the next day? Not sure whether to wait and see or get straight to vets so opinions and experience welcome. Thanks
