Hi ya everyone

Well took my mare to the vets yesterday and had her nerve blocked in both front legs, well feet and after the minimum 5 minute wait on each leg she went sound so we then x rayed the foot he was happy with the navicular bone etc and basically said that what we need to do is after he has spoke to my farrier to explain is shorten her toe to lift the heel up and change how her foot is at the moment i.e freeing up an area behind the bones or something!

Sooo as of tonight im lunging her in the school then once shoes are on i can ride her on soft surface keeping it light work to start with, then he said between 1-6 months i should have her totally back to normal!!!!

Im am one happy lady!!!!!

Thanks again to LadyMagoo and dad who took me and stood in on it all!!!!

Brilliant news that the problem sounds fixeable. And yes, if it's foot related then definately don't wait 6-8 weeks to have her shod. My horses get done every 5 weeks religiously. Obviously you'll be guided by your blacksmith and vet - but routine foot care is just so important.
