I'm currently looking at horses for sale and I'm wondering when you get a horse vetted do you use your own vet, or one thats local to the horse if you've travelled a bit to get to it? How far do vets usually travel? The horse I'm looking at at the moment is about an hour away from me so I am wondering if this would be too far for my local vet, and if it is how do I go about finding one which is nearer to the horse. Thanks :)

It will be best to check with your own vet to see if they will travel that far and how much extra it will cost you. If it is not viable for your vet to do the vetting ask him/her to recommend someone.

Just another tip I was given on here is not to use the same vet that the owners use? I viewed a horse at a riding school away from where I live and would not have used the owners own vet? I would rather pay my vets costs ie petrol/time to take someone I had faith in. Good luck but I have been looking too away from home and difficult when u dont know the local vets.
