Prior to buying my last horse I had actually had actually put in a complaint to my vets about the incorrect diagnosis for the horse that had just been lost so knew I had to find another vet for the new horse anyway. In this instance I used a vet local to the area I was buying the horse from after making sure he was not my vendors own vet and when he had passed found a new vet in the area I was moving the horse to. Usually I would get my own vet to go and vet a potential horse but again this would depend on the distance, as they charge an awful lot for travelling. Gosh that sounds awfully complicated, hope you guys can follow. If you can a nice hot choccy with whipped cream and a flake and a really chocolatey boost bar for you.
i got a recommendation from my yard and then rang them and they gave me a number of a vets closer to the place where i was getting the horse from and they were lovely.
