Hi! Can anyone recommend me a vet to do a pre purchase exam near athlone please? Had a look online but can't seem to find any proper horse vets in that area. Thanks for any help

If you look on the Cavan Sales Vet panel, it lists the vets that are approved for their pre-sales vettings, and the same for the Goresbridge sales too - you can find the panel vets listed online.

Hi! Just wanted to update, unfortunately I couldn't arrange with the vets above so I looked on Cavan vet list and booked in with Paddy Maguire who was very helpful and easy to deal with, 5 stage and bloods cost 150 euro I think which is very good compared to England prices! Time will tell if he did the job right but I didn't have any concerns about her passing from the viewing so not surprised she passed.
Anyway she has arrived safe and sound (I used 'nags cabs' to bring her over cost £350 to the stable door brilliant!), she is a little shy but settling in well. Can't wait to get her going, I think my boss will love her.
And we absolutely loved Athlone! It was a sunny (but cold!) day and it was just lovely walking along the river side, we stopped for a cuppa and it was perfect. Everyone was so friendly and kind, we will definitely be back for a holiday one day. Thanks so much all for your help and advice

So glad it all worked out for you. Vets are a lot cheaper over here! And yes, Athlone is lovely and has a lot of history to it. Well worth a holiday Good luck with your horse.
