Hey can I ask anyone who’s had a horse vetted, stage 2 if that makes a difference as horse is an unbroken 4 year old, how long did you have to wait for the report? Horse passed vetting, was told I’d receive the report, 2 weeks on and despite 1 phone call and an email reminder, I still haven’t had it? Am I missing something? All paid for upfront btw so that can’t be the reason I haven’t had it. Is this normal? Tia☺️

I had mine within a week, but it was emailed to me that day for forwarding on to insurance.

I expect it emailed the same day, hard copy in the post at their leisure.

I have had a vet say one thing and write something different in the past. I returned the certificate and 'reminded' them what they had said on the phone, and that the phone call had been the basis of my decision. I also reminded them that I had informed them that I was driving, using hands free, at the time they called. I then informed them that I had a dashcam, with sound.

Often, accidental, incidental recording would be usable in court, and would also in a complaint.

They sent me the appropriate certificate that agreed with their findings of the day.

I had a Stage 2 vetting on unbroken youngster, phone call immediately following vettting. Emailed through the next morning and hard copy within a week. Definitely chase and ask while you are on the phone for it to be emailed, pending receipt of the hard copy.

I’d expect it within a day or so, and if it was forgotten, pretty much instantly when chased.

Most insurers won’t accept a vetting certificate older than 14 days. But regardless of insurance it should be sent.

This is what’s concerning me, I had the usual phone call straight after and he mentioned one thing but said it wasn’t of any concern, so now I’m wondering if the report will say something different to what he said on the phone. I sent a strongly worded email on Wednesday but still haven’t had a response, so I’m going to ring today and possibly make a formal complaint? I just think this seems very unprofessional tbh☺😏

Call the Practice Manager to discuss. Vet clearly has not done his admin, receptionist, whilst trying her hardest wont have any influence over the Vet, but his boss will.

If it’s past 14 days and insurance won’t accept it, they will need to return and repeat the process at the cost of the practice.

I've just checked back through my old e-mails as I recall a bit of delay. Wiggy was vetted on July 23rd, collected on July 24th and I received the certificate on Aug 1st. I had no concerns at all from anything the vet said (she said he was the best 14yr old she'd ever seen, couldn't find a thing wrong with him and she'd seen worse 6 year olds) had seen his full vet records before I'd had him vetted and wasn't insuring him so I wasn't too bothered about getting it immediately or I'd have chased.
