Can anyone recommend a vet to use for a vetting Devon? It will be near Newton Abbot.

I don't think my vet will do it and if he will it would cost me a forune!

Thanks

Which side of Newton Abbot? My vets are fab and are in the Okehampton area (the other side of the moor, but if the horse is Bovey Tracey side of Newton Abbot you might be ok...). I use John Herrod Taylor at North Park Vets. www.northparkvets.co.uk

Western Counties Equine Clinic have a very good reputation and depending which side of Newtona Abbot the horse is they may be able to do it for you. Also Wildman Equine Vet Practice is a good equine only practice with moblie x-ray and the usual toys.

Hope this is of some use

Try Richard Mitchell at Seymour Vets. They're based in Totnes, so only a few miles away. He's a good old fashioned vet.

Also St Davids Equine at Nutwell. They are equine vets only but if the horse has any lumps or bumps on the legs almost certainly will fail in my experience !

Out of curiosity, what are you buying?

Maybe nothing yet!

But I am having a second look at a 4yr old warmblood this week that I do quite like.

I never usually bother with a vetting but I am spending a bit more money this time so I suppose I should. The people selling seem lovely but better safe than sorry!

I'll keep my fingers crossed. If you want to PM me their name I can let you know if I know them and if its good or bad - that's if you want to know !!

I can also vouch for Jon Herold Taylor, he is our vet, a thoroughly nice man and extremely thorough with his examinations. Good Luck
