I am having my potential new horse vetted, I will begin ringing vets on Monday morning first thing.
The dealer I am buying from (riding school, equestrian centre set up) has suggested two vets to use (both different practices). He insisted I had the new horse 5 stage vetted as oppose to the 2 stage I had planned to get. Horse just to be used for hacking, dressage and maybe later some clear round/low level jumping with my eldest son.
I have always been told never to have a vetting by a vet the dealer suggests. He has given the vet names and practise name and their phone numbers.
Anyone around the West Sussex area that can impartially suggest a vet to use? I have been given the details of these two vets:
Ben Mayes - Mayes & Grimes
Alistair Mcvicar - Anvil Equine
This is link to the horse in question - Jeff 15.2 7yrs 1st on page. Any locals with knowledge of the dealer or vets PM me PLEASE. I have paid a 10% deposit on the horse pending vetting.
