Dear Lordy where to start the Mare is being vetted at 8.30 tomorrow and I am so nervous excited frightened.

I had a really bad time with last horse and it has taken a huge leap and good friends to get this far.

The worst bit is that I cant go round to my best friends for comfort and alcohol because her Mums funeral is today and I would never have got this far without her support and her horse to ride.

Then like a bit of Deja Vu my Dad had tthe Paramedics out night before last ... he's fine but I did give hima gentle daughter to dad talking to. This time last year I lost my Mum and all my little insecurities keep shooting back into my head but I am building mechanisms to help me.

So I have done as much trying as I can. I have a place booked at a good yard if she passes more than I want to pay but it makes sense to start off with a lot of help and wean myself off it.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????

So here is the details of the mare whom I shall refer to as Gulliver in a Black Frock because he is my Avatar.

She is 6 15.2 on her passport Black cob type (no known breeding) with a lot of Prescence (in my mind).

She hacks out in Company in a snaffle she has cubbed in the last fortnight in a snaffle too.

I tried her Sunday am in the pouring rain in a huge field and jumped Xc (18 inches I'm nervous).

My friend and I both Rode her Sunday PM

I took her for a pootle Monday and met fast tractors JCBs in a narrow lane.

Tuesday I went for a hack with two ladies and had a flat out canter up a field with the other horses no issues about control was brave enough to try the brakes (last horse would have pressed ejector seat button)

Yesterday she is in season and she is in a paddock with two other mares next to..... a Stallion and I caught her and tacked her up she kept yelling at the posh bloke next door and I had to hack past him to the field (A different field just to see) her mates were over the hedge and mares and foals the other direction and her head was up and a lot of calling so nervous knickers kicked off panic mode and I thought oh no get off but I didnt we did circles and turns and worked and she settled down.
I thought I am not going to canter she'll bolt or nap then mentally gave myself a slap and did some canter work she was lovely.

Gave the poor soul a bath when I finished and turned her out gingerly as Stallion got all interested and she snorted at him but stood while I took her headcollar off and then trotted away.

So tomorrow it may well be the start of a beautiful friendship and a low bank balance.

She is an ex Giffords circus horse but I dont know how much time she spent in the ring and she has been broken for harness as well.
