I know there is already a long thread on this but want to ask people's thoughts on a specific circumstance. I'm going to look at 12 year old mare on Monday, for sale through a dealer who appears to have a good rep. She has been up for sale since August (she's a bit sharp and put off a couple novices who's been to try her) and had passed a 5 stage before the dealer bough her, presumably I can see a copy of this. Subject to seeing this, what would your opinions be on a two stage vetting if I was to purchase her? They are offering a 14 day trial period.

Definitely vet. The previous vetting is irrelevant. Also check the conditions of the 14 day trial With most dealers that would be for an exchange rather than your money back.

Agree with this, always have a full vetting done and check out any conditions of sale thoroughly.

Get a full vetting done. Don't rely on what was done months ago.

On what basis can the horse be returned within 14 days?
