Hey!

I'm looking for opinions on which is the best one to join... Aside from which finals they both accumulate in, i know little to nothing about which i would prefer!

For reference:
18 year old New Forest gelding
Prefer flat and inhand showing
Based in South West

I can't join both as already paying for NPS membership for my others

So.... which one would you join??

VHS is much more relaxed.
SSADL is very prestigious but everything is extremely strict which I think leads to a little more stress and a less enjoyable day.

I've just had to google VHS to see if it was still running. In recent years I've only seen SSADL classes at county shows in the area (Dorset, Devon, NF, etc) and had assumed that they had taken over from VHS, so it might be worth checking which shows each society has classes at and make a decision based (partly) on that.

It does seem that they move around a bit with a show being one society one year and the other the next. Bath and West was VHS last year. South of England main show is VHS. Think Romsey is SSADL. But definitely check.
