Nasty Mr Fox got into one of the pens at the yard (YO has 5 ducks & some moorhens).

They all managed to escape but one duck was quite hurt, YO took her into the house, and 2 others were scuffed and traumatised.

Not sure how bad shock can be in ducks - fingers crossed please that the hurt one recovers.

Poor ducks, if YO sticks her in a quiet dark place she'll maybe get over it. I had to stitch one of mine back together when our EBT got hold of it, years ago. Recovered well, I used to have to take it out for flying "physio".

If the duck has to be kept in for any length of time remember they like a deep bowl of water to get their head right in.

Poor wee quackers. Got fingers crossed. I have always thought that a pond of ducks quietly quacking under their breaths as they go about their business is one of the most relaxing and pleasant sounds in the universe. It rates up there with a barn full of horses munching hay on a winter's afternoon or a cat purring on your lap late in the evening when all is still. Ho hum. Feeling poetic! Anyone else got favourite happy sounds??? Hug ducks for me Arwen! xxx

Ah, thanks both! Jemima_too good advice!

Box_of_Frogs, I totally agree. I get to the yard first & can hear a low burbling of duck as they wait to be let out. Is a great noise!
