Just had to call the vet out to my lurcher Finn he collapsed in the garden and couldn't get up.
The vet thinks its a partial disc prolapse and he's had a huge steroid injection plus a painkiller.
He has reflexes on one side of his body at the moment and vet was hopeful
So please send as many vibes his way as possible

Thankyou yep late nights, weekends and bank holidays are prime injury and illness times lol £80 before the vet even got to us!

I think that was reasonable, I paid £95 to walk through the vets door on a Sunday over 2 years ago, my equine vet was so much cheaper.

No I didnt think for one moment you begrudged it but I know what you mean, what we pay for our animals, but we just want them well.

I paid 60 a couple of years ago for a Sunday night trip to vets, thankfully it's not a regular thing

The injections have started to kick in never been so happy to see a dog try to stand up. Thankfully he's a lazy lurcher so isn't into rushing around but yay

I may manage to catch an hour or 2 later but can't see myself getting much. Would hate for him to do more damage to himself trying to get up

It's like he's giving up , I've just syringed a little water into him but didn't want to give to much as he's struggling to get outside. I'm on crutches so can't carry him down the step or towel walk him out . If he can get down the step then he can get around the garden ok, but last couple of times he's fallen after going down the step and scared himself. He tries to rush it which is the worst thing he could do. Going up the step is no problem only down

I think he's definitely feeling brighter today. He's still wobbly esp on his back end but his legs are less turned out. He's eating now but still not drinking
