I need to go back down yard at 3am to check on Sniff as he had colic this evening

He had spasmodic colic, very mild but he has never had colic in the 8yrs ive owned him.
He seemed fine when i left - a little miffed that he wasnt allowed his dinner OR his hay and even more so that the nasty vet lady made his mum put him in a shavings bed so he couldnt even nibble the straw

So just fingers crossed he is still ok at 3am when i check him again!

Ari had spasmodic colic last Monday so I know how you feel

No acorns in your fields are there? These are now the prime suspect in Ari's case and we had to fence off all the trees in the paddock earlier in the week.

Yes there is a tree but it is fenced off - but knowing him he has probably managed to get one.
The vet did say they had had lots of spasmodic colic cases this week - something to do with the grass and it getting colder so quickly at night.

Typical man, as soon as the pains gone its thoughts back to his tummy!

He can have a whole 1 handful of hay at 3am if he is ok!

hi,
Just back from the yard where i spent the night freezing in my lorry on my own!
Sniff is fine now, has had a little hay and was not impressed by the lack of breakfast!

He was also not impressed with his inhand grazing, cue me being dragged round the paddock.

Yup - i even unwrapped a new medium weight rug and threw that on my bed too!
