I have been walking my friends 2 b/c's for the last 6 weeks as she fell and broke her hip , went this morning as usual to find my friend pale faced and shaking , the 6 year old border collie was having a fit , thankfully her niece is staying a couple of days , so was able to take him straight to the vets , who have referred him to 6 mile bottom under Dick White , poor dog was walking like he is drunk , pupils dilated and gums pale, he threw up twice in garden and had the runs, my concern was that friends brother in law [ non-doggy ] had sprayed the weeds in front garden with weed killer on sunday , vet not seem to think that was causing it, thinking more of a brain issue , the dogs are my friends life as she lost her husband 2 years ago , she has got the dog up to novice in obedience through sheer hard work and has lost best part of this year due to her fall, she is the most lovely person , does anyone have any idea's as to what could be wrong with the dog ? he doesn't eat stuff out on walks , not a big eater full stop , eats to live as oppose to the other way round .

Epilepsy is sadly not uncommon in B/C's, but can be controlled with medication. You will get superb care and advice from Dick White I'm sure.

As stated. Epilepsy is not uncommon in border collies and can come on at any age. I know of a couple epileptic collies, mine has had a couple of small episodes in the past. It can be controlled with medication if he becomes a regular sufferer. Good luck!
