I hope Bikerchickone doesn't mind me updating but she's understandably knackered and gone to bed.

"thinks he is feeling slightly better because oh boy does he have the raging hump, he's starving, hot, starving, itchy, starving, grumpy oh and did I mention he's starving? Poor boy! Hopefully he'll start being fed in the morning and be home tomorrow evening."

Fingers crossed he has a good night and is home tomorrow.
 
Hi all, sorry I didn't update last night, it was a pretty stressful day and by the time I'd updated family and facebook etc I was all done in. Thank you all so much for all your kind words and thanks to those who passed on my updates. The hospital were going to start feeding Dom this morning and then he has to stay in for another 12 hours to make sure he's passing droppings and not displacing his gut again before they'll allow me to take him home. All being well he should be home tonight so I think all the positive vibes really helped :)

Only downside now is that I'll be terrified to leave him for a few days now! Luckily my yard owner has been fantastic and with us all the way so he'll be very well managed once home.

Again thank you all so much for your support, really lovely to know so many wish him well. I'll update again later once I know more. :) x

I have been thinking about you and your lad hoping everything goes well, so am pleased to read your update this am, you must be so tired you must try get some rest too.

I am so pleased to read this, have been thinking about you both, take a well earned rest and get ready for his return. Glad all seems to be going well, and will continue to do so. Big hug on his return from me.x
 
Thank you! I pretty much passed out as soon as my head hit the pillow last night so feel a bit better this morning. :) just hate waiting for calls from the vet! Still, no news is good news as they say! I'm hoping he won't be so angry this morning since he'll have been fed. He was very cross last night, poor soul hasn't ever gone that long without food! He has ad lib at home! :o

Can't wait to have the all clear and get him out of there though! ;)
 
HE'S HOME!!!!

Sorry just so pleased! He has some abnormally high protein level in his blood results but we're keeping an eye on him and going to re test in 14 days. I'm back to the yard in an hour or so to check and will hopefully not feel the need to sleep up there in my car! :eek:

Such a stressful time but glad it's coming to an end now! Thank you all for your kind words. :) x

Thanks everyone! Just back from the late check and he's well enough to be throwing everything within reach around the barn so all good. He was very pleased to see his small haynet though ;)

Now I'm making cheese straws for my OH to take to his parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary party tomorrow! Bloomin horses :):):):):)
