My 4 yo newfoundland is back at the vets today for more xrays and biopsy. She has either fractured a bone in her hock or she has got a joint sarcoma or both.
I Am also having my old horse pts in next couple of weeks so i dont know how i will cope if it is the sarcoma as she will not have long to live. We dont get the official results in 10-14days :(
Vibes for my poor doggy please that it is a crack in the bone.

Gosh poor you and poor doggie, I never thought I would be saying this, but I hope you have a fracture of the hock and its nothing sinister, and hope the vets can sway one way or the other for you today, so you don't have 2 weeks of torture!!

thanks. So do i, never thought i would hope a dog had a broken leg!! But atleast that heals! Just waiting to hear off vets in next hour or so. They were biopsying her about an hour ago. Will post update as soon as i have one!
 
Loads of vibes, hoping (again, sounds horrid!) but hope it is just a break, and sorry to hear about your horse too.
Met two Newfies last night, went over to them specifically as I saw they were very bouncy and strong, and had a nice chat with owners, no one wants to play with them as they are so big, small dogs just snap and bite at them and then they get splatted :o and they were not socialised as pups, hope we see them again during the daytime so they can all have a good yomp on the beach together, no one wants to play with my black fluffy thing either!!!
 
Vibes for your newfie ... hope the results comes back as a break. I wanted to tell you to try not to worry but I know that's not possible ... so have some hugs instead :).
 
well vets are feeling positive. No break but also nothing nasty on first investigations. Obv got wait for biopsy results in 10days tho. So fingers crossed it is something we will never know the reason behind the limp or it is actually the start of djd which is still a better outcome. I am happy she is home asleep now snoring loudly!!
Cavecanem she has the prob of wanting to play but no one else does although she is softest thing on the planet and loves all dogs even if they growl at her which can be an issue at times!!
Still keeping fingers crossed it comes back negative for anything nasty and she becomes sound again! Thanks for vibes they have worked so far x
