this has probably been posted before, but now I have a lorry (YAY) I can finally go to one of her clinics at Oldencraig. Had a look on the website and its £50 for a 45 min session.
I don't mind paying that much if she's good and its worth it

but has anyone actually been and what is she like??

My friend went and rode one of her schoolmasters, she thought she was the bee's knees!

I also rode one of the schoolamasters - had the most bouncy trot in the universe

I found Vicky a very good and observant teacher but not the most eager to share her observations...Once I asked though she explained a lot to me about some faults in my position, how to rectify them and gave some tips on future work. If only I could afford it I would go more often!

If you get Vicki herself and on your own horse she is a very sympathetic teacher and a really really nice kind person as well. I've seen her teach lots of times and agree that sometimes her vocals are 'minimalist' but she has all the knowledge and it is a bit up to you to ask questions if you don't understand and she really does know the answers. Most of the O'craig horses are ridden in spurs so take some with you just in case unless your horse hates them or you normally ride in them anyway.

However, if you get the other trainers or the schoolmasters and not your own horse I wouldn't necessarily be so enthusiastic and Gwennah's observations might well co-incide with mine. Certainly the price of a lesson on a schoolmaster with one of the other trainers is expensive compared with Vicky on your own horse.......draw own conclusions......

I will be taking my own horse, he's a 4 year old Warmblood X Arab doing prelims at the moment and normally getting in the region of 61%.
Want to start doing some novices and affiliate this year, and thought Vicki would be ideal to set me on the right track.
It is advertised as a Vicki Thompson Dressage Clinic..

I've never ridden him in spurs tho
