That was lovely - and looked so easy...I will think of that trot and canter at my show on Sunday and see if I can reproduce 10% of that calmness and rhythm. The only thing you need to improve it is a tie pin!

Lovely horse with some lovely paces. I am no expert as mainly done novice tests, our elementary attempts were a bit of a disaster.

Anyway back to you and your lovely horse, I think the canter may need to step up a gear as it looks like it could do with a bit my activity and then his legs will come underneath more and hopefully just lift the front end up a tad more.

Very nice. Lovely horse, keeps a really nice rythym.
For me he needs to work much higher in his poll to get really good marks

Yeah.....looks very nice..........and if you can get him off the forehand he looks like he might even jump

I think you are a lovely harmonious combination and the horse has a lovely rhythm and nice suppleness. For me he needs to work more actively from behind, to be showing more energy especially in canter. Also needs to be more secure through from behind to help lighten the shoulders and keep the poll up and front end up, then I feel the marks have the potential to be quite high.

You know i love your horse!!!

Hes fab, has a lovely loose action. However i personally think he needs more energy behind, and to be more 'up' in front and using his backend more (with more energy) to get this lighter feeling in front. It all looks really nice and 'neat' but just needs more 'umph' now to get even higher marks!

I can only spout all that off to you because its exactly what im working on with Archie at the moment!!

Bless you all!!!

Yep, all comments took on, and now... how to do!! AHHHHH!!!! I have and do many short transitions, this gets his listening and sharper off the aids and his "arse into gear"!!! We sustain it for a while and then he drops his poll again. He is such a big horse to keep together and I was told he was a mans horse etc... which makes me even more determined to get it together with him!!!

I do lateral work; shoulder-in, leg yielding which does help also.

This morning I tried to just carry my hands a little higher and it did seem to work!! I did not pull back so his neck was not shorter, just raised my hands a little more.

I suppose I want it all to be perfect right now!!!

My horse would rather go in a rectangular box rather than a square box given the choice, I am told to keep my reins quite short and hands up and together (although not too high), if I give him lots of length of rein he will drop in front. Always making sure however you have the engine going and you are not holding them up. I constantly have to adjust the length of my reins to make sure they are short enough and I am providing him the correct framework to work within.

dressagechick very interesting.... I shall try canter leg yield...

Rambo...Ha!! I am a converted S/J !!! Tehe!!! Lets convert you to dressage....!!!
