Its really hard to tell from those to be honest. Can you get someone to vid you from the ground, from the side and from the back whilst you walk and trot round?
awwww i see now, my pony used to have to wear a non slip pad when we first got her new saddle, we're told to by the saddler and it worked a charm. she doesnt need it now tho. dunno if it was just cause it was so new or something
Ver bizarre. Hard to see from the vids (sorry!), but none of my newly fitted saddles have felt like I'm going to end up either sat on m'ned's side or under the ned's belly!
.
After a saddle fitting session, when we get one that fits properly, I've felt like I'm secure and sat deep; and that my ned has had the freedom to swing through the shoulders and back (in Dizzy's case, very often when going backwards at high speed lol).
yeah it also when you go round in circle it tips to outside!! so no good for sj especially in jump offs. so think im sending it back, and get diff saddler out. good idea??
Well, the saddler has the right to rectify - s/he might want to come out and try again. Would only give one last chance though, and it has to be within a reasonable period of time.
I don't really understand. My saddlers do the tweaking on-site, that way they know it's right. But maybe that's why I now use BI saddlers lol
At the end of the day if you dont feel comfortable/happy in it then its no good anyway, whether it fits correctly or not so I would take it back if I were you maybe just say you're not getting on with it if you dont want to accuse her of not fitting it properly
well ill give her a call see what she says but now i feel i cant trust her at all and dont want to waste another week of not jumping to find it still aint right.
Sorry, but the videos really are of no use in assessing the saddle fit. Skin does move a little with the saddle, but not to make it slip/move.
Is it possible that you don't sit squarly? You probably would not notice yourself, but ask someone to watch you riding. If they watch you from behind, they should be able to tell if you are slightly lop sided 9which is no reflection on your riding, bodies tend not to always be straight!)
To be prefectly honest, although I know you got good responses to your question last night about your saddler, I don't think she is doing her job properly. She needs to adjust your saddle on-site and watch you ride in both walk and trot, before signing it off to you.
I hope you can get this sorted, it must be so frustrating for you.
