Would you view a horse thats been off work for a year? I know its really subjective this as it does depend why but when advert says due to rider moving onto horses (this one's 15.3).
Yes,i certainly wouldnt write it off!!!!
Ask which vets have treated the horse in the past and do ya homework!Rider moving onto horses?May be that she has outgrown a 15.3 as many teenagers do
,however i would still be wary, they probably should have put, bigger horse...but it dosnt explain why it hasnt been ridden for a yr
,surely they must have known it was outgrown a yr ago and thought about selling then??Maybe they had another person inline to ride it but it fell through???
Lots of ifs and buts....would go and have a look if interested but be VERY cautious!
Yard i once worked at,they bought one from a field after a yr out,wow could that thing get you off
,he used to rear, get you sat forward start to come down then throw the biggest buck ever and get you off....however it jumped and behaved impeccably at shows
I brought our mare for my mum that hadn't been ridden for a year and a half, the woman said she was ok for light work after a tendon injury, so I asked her to get on her to see what her reaction was, she was fine, we didn't get her vetted as we knwe we where buying her as a light hack with leg problems, but if they say there is nothing wrong with the horse, get them to ride it, and then get it vetted.
Thanks Showjump2003, Ill be taking you up on that offer!!
Not really sure about this horse as its a mare, I really dont want a mare. But being off work for a year really putting me off anyway shame shes done sj trailblazers year before.
