Views/experiences of the 'Stark Naked Bit'

This is nothing new, leather bits have been around for years, although this is made from biothane. I can see it lasting about 30 seconds with the average horse that chews the bit.

The Stark Naked bit is absynthetic copy cat product by a woman, who almost exactly copied the original Meroth Leather Snaffle, which has been made in Germany for almost 30 years.
The problem with this bit is that even though it is made from relatively safe material, biothane, there are no certifications of this material being safe for prolonged contact with mucus membranes.
The other problem is that a synthetic material in a horse's mouth can a) cause chafing and soreness and b) has no breakaway. Should you get hung up with this bit, your horse's jaw is in trouble.
The Meroth bit is from non-toxic leather (plant-based tanning process) and has a break-away. It can be used for years (I have had mine for years) with proper care. The horse accepts it readily and does not destroy it, at least I have never seen that.
Hope this helps.
