What do you think?- I don't think he is looking too bad. He really struggles to keep it on, he lives on tenderhooks, and doesn't eat as much as most welshies.

Thanks

nb- No its not wiered to have a hogged slim welsh B with knee action a hackney would be proud of and so narrow and high withered its like riding a knife.

There is a reason for this nose pokey unique pony being in the team.

Looks a nice weight in the Autum. He looks a little lean in Jan pick, but seems to have picked up a bit now. Love the stretching pic!!! I personnally would rather see ponies a little light at this time of year as less chance of Lami come the Spring. I think we are all so used to seeing fat horses, that anything on the lean side is viewed as a welfare case!!! (when really some of the fatties are in far more danger of long term health issues).

Have to agree totally!

Yes he deffo looks better now than Jan. I know how feel my horse can go from looking slim to looking like a toast rack in a short space of time

Hopefully a bit of sping grass in a few weeks will help

He he first photo I thought he was a big breed, my perception must be wonky this morning! What a lovely looker & how good does he look in harness (ignoring condition). I can completely understand why he's on the team and am V envious!

Looks ok to me, especially given the time of year as others have said. You're obviously doing something right

How much work is he in at the moment?

Thanks! Thats good to hear.

Thats him at the front, looking his sexiest!

He has the same length back as our shetty (and the shetty is good confo.)! He is like a small welsh A, on stilts to 13.2.

He gets worked 4, or 5 times a week, for about 45 mins.

He looks well - and is gorgeous! Most people keep their horses too fat. I would prefer a pony of his breeding to be a bit lean comng into spring than too fat

I couldn't agree more! Natives are designed to come out of winter by the skin of their teeth. Then their metabolism changes to deal with the rich summer grass. So, no. I don't think he's outrageously thin either.
