Just had a call from a friend - apparently a yard in Hornchurch/Upminster area has been infected with a lung/breathing virus which is highly contagious and has infected a number of horses there.

Obviously this is just a rumour at the moment - and we all know what the equine rumour mill is like - but there is talk that there have been two fatalities at this particular yard.

Just been on the look out for new liveries arriving from that sort of area - apparently there have been a few already asking at a yard down the road from us.

Note, this is just a rumour at the moment, so I'm not trying to spread anything malicious!

Have put a call into H&J about it already, waiting for them to get back to me......although they're limited in the information they can give out even if they have treated anything there.

Yup, ned and cats all loyal H&J patients! You too? I've already been on the phone to Ralph today about mud fever prevention!

Have been to their lectures before, haven't booked in for this year's yet - they're not at Ivy Hill this time are they?

Just heard back from the vets - there's nothing that they've heard of that's fatal, although they were being quite vague, and said there were various other viruses doing the rounds......

Oh really? Yes i think I know the yard that you are talking about one VERY close to me. I had heard thay'd had viruses but not about fatalities. I shall do some digging me thinks xx

Actually I did a bit of a dig last night. There has been one horse put down there but not through the virus. They have however had LOADS of them down with it, but apparently no fatalities. xx

I used to be on Finn's yard and know lots of people there - I'll text them now and give them a warning that something (no fatalities as yet) is in the air.

Any chance of being more specific with the yard? Does it begin with L or H?
