virus ??, what do we think ?!!

my show horse developed diarhea this is better than what it was just still very co patty ( if that makes sense ), however tonight his legs have filled up a little and temp of 36.6 and that was with 2 rugs on and he has got his winter coat , I am thinking maybe virus ? X

I'd be getting a vet out tomorrow as he sounds like his system is not working the way it should

I would be getting the vet to see the horse. There are some odd toxic issues around. I have known of 3 horses that have had diarrhoea and a low temperature. The toxic cause unknown

Is this the horse you wormed with pramox recently?

silverfly , yep he was wormed with paramox last weekend x

I would get vet out today. need to take bloods.

And some horses can't cope with pramox, very powerful so if you need pramox ingredients, remember that Equest plus Equitape given separately is the same ingredients as Pramox, I have to do this with my horse.

NB my horse came down with an ME like recurring virus after worming plus flu jab close together, so make sure they are at least another fortnight apart too....he can no longer have flu jab and I blood test for tapes so only routine wormer is Equest type for encysted redworm and I only do that when he's on top form.
