I will be visiting Dorset from Ireland in late March Early April. Will there still be hunting and can you recomend a hunt pack and what kind of country do they cross. I am happy with stone walls..

You won't find may stone walls in Dorset ;)

The Cattistock, Portman and South Dorset hunts are ones I can think of in Dorset, the Cattistock have a website http://www.cattistockhunt.co.uk/ as do the Wilton, who cover some of Dorset http://www.wilton-hunt.co.uk/

I can't comment on the others, but the Wilton are a very friendly bunch, the country is mixed and depends on the day (from chalk downlands with good jumping, to wooded days and water meadows etc) so it's best to phone and ask about the meets.

I love the South Dorset hunt, they are great. We have hedges, no stone walls but lots of hedges and land is flat and open so lots of space!

I live in South Dorset so let me know who you decide to go with!x

I think all the Dorset hunts will have packed up by then. The South & West Wilts are usually the latest to finish in the general area. Their final meet is March 31st
