My fiancé and I are spending Christmas and New Year in Oxfordshire, very close Burford. I'd absolutely love to go and watch the Boxing Day Hunt. Apparently the local hunt is the Heythrop. Can anyone tell me where the meet is and when would be the best time to go and have a look.

We are so excited to go, we both ride and have gone (drag) hunting in South Africa but it's hardly the same thing!

Heythrop meet is usually Chipping Norton. Very busy and not an easy place to park so I'd aim to be there before 10.30am. Roughly 30 mins on the back roads, bit longer on the main one.

I'd go to blenheim if I were you! Usually a very big meet but not too fast as many kids and novices, but there will be lots of people out and gorgeous surroundings.

Thanks so much for the replies! Blenheim sounds wonderful and we are very close. We do have a car and drove there yesterday just to have a look. I'm sure it must be spectacular to watch there. Chipping Norton is also very close. Will definitely get there early if we do go, thanks Mimi.

Thanks everyone!

Thank you all for your help! We ended up going to Chipping Norton and it was absolutely fantastic. I'm determined that if we come again next year, I will be better prepared and organise a horse! What a super morning.
