I am thinking of taking a trip to watch the XC this year. It will be my first time. i can only go on the Saturday - the schedule says CCI3* YRL and CCI3* - will these classes make good viewing?
many thanks

It’s a nice event, not massive in terms of comparing to other big British events. 3* is international intermediate level, so no top horses but you should get a reasonable smattering of the bigger named riders

ETA I just checked schedule and you also have the 4* sj on the Saturday, given they are hosting a nations cup, that should add to the viewing

I've been a couple of times. I didn't think it was that easy to watch cross country. The course winds through the trees a lot, so you can only watch a fence or two at a time. That might be OK for you, but it's great if you can stand in one area and watch a good selection of fences being jumped.
It is a nice event but not one I would rush to if mine wasn't competing.
