Ok so ive been told my horse is slightly anemic (sp).. and has muscle tissue damage and needs vitamin B supplement (vet bloods not a random assumption :D )

Any reccomendations? Ive never been one for supplements except pink powder - it needs to be seriously mild tasting else she will point blank refuse to eat it (please dont tell me to leave it in as it will be sat there for weeks.... shes horrible :D )

Thanks :)

I can't help on the vitamin B supplement I'm sorry but here's a little tip for fussy eaters that might be worth trying...

A little bottle of peppermint essense (found in the bakery section of the supermarket with the vanilla essense, food colouring etc.) diluted with lots of water and put in a spray bottle, to be added to feed.

I found it worked well with my old horse who could be a fussy eater and would eat around medicines/supplements etc.!

It's a pretty cheap solution too!!

Good luck!

The best is: HB Formula
We got it from the vet (but I think you can get it online?).

HB Formula for Horses is for use as a vitamin
and mineral supplement for horses.

Contains (per each level scoop) Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) 150mcg Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) 25mg Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine HCl) 10mg Folic Acid 100mg Niacin 300mg Pantothenic Acid 20mg Iron 100mg Copper 5mg Choline Chloride 50mg Biotin 10mcg Inositol 50mg d, l-Methionine 50mg Lysine 150mg Glycine 50mg

Directions Mix the contents of one level scoop with feed daily for 30 days or as directed by your veterinary surgeon.

thanks :)

Ive never had to feed a vitamin supplement before :/ and im even more bummed as she needs another 10 days off work! (already had around 6 weeks off except for 3 days ridden then colic!!)

Rode her y'day while waiting for vet results (no issue with that btw im not cruel :D )... she felt very flat..... and now 10 days off - lets hope she comes back with a huge spring in her little warmblood body lol! :)
