Last year I had Patches on the EPSM diet to see if it helped her toe dragging (ruling all things out..clutching at straws blah blah). Whilst the diet didn't stop her toe dragging, it did make Patches a bit more energetic compared to normal. Not silly, but a bit more sparky.

I had to stop the diet over the summer as I couldn't keep weight off her, no matter how much I restricted grazing.

Anyhow, as some of you may recall I was concerned about her fitness at the farm ride mid April. I've come to the conclusion since that her fitness wasn't back to 100% following the chest infection she had from a reaction to mouldy hay. However, I decided I'd feed her for a couple of days before the ride I did on Sunday to see if it helped her further as she's currently out 24/7 on very short grass and no feed.

I tried the oil and Vitamin E/Selenium combination, as I still had stocks of it, but she wouldn't touch it for some reason. I noticed the supplement from Equimins stated it was for horses in hard training that required extra stamina. Whilst I accept this is likely marketed towards eventers or even race horses, I figured it couldn't hurt to give her a scoop or two (as per recommended dose) to her the Friday and Saturday before the ride and Sunday evening.

Now, I don't know if it's coincidence, as she's fitter and well and truly over her chest infection, but Patches is really on fire at the moment. Striding out, incredibly forward going and not at all sweaty after a good couple of hours hacking and cantering around head lands in one of our fields. Does this supplement make so much difference or is it all coincidence and a sign of her increased fitness?

This is the one I have:

I use it too on my borderline EPSM/tye-up QHxTB horse. It was recommended by my vet to reduce acid build up in his ham strings and back muscles. Again, might be coincidence but that, along with other treatments, seems to be doing the trick. I wouldnt stop now just incase............... !!

here, here! 'm a hige fan of Equimins products and use NeutraX with Pro Bio on my mare that ties up and since she has been on it (touch wood) she hasn't tied up! Could be coincidence but I don't think it is...
