Vitamin supplements/ chewing wood

I have two horses, one of which is on spillers slow response and the other is on dodson & horrell competition concentrate. I have recently noticed that both have started to lick a wooden chair i have that is next to where they are tied up. One has also started to chew my wooden rug rack. ive put some anti crib paint on the rug rack but i'd like to know if this is a sign of vitamin deficiency? and is so what vitamin supplements do people recommend?

my horse did this alot i put him on bailys lo-cal balancer and he doesnt do it much anymore, only ocasionally does he do it, he is so much better now.

If my horses don't have a Big Red Rockie in the field they tend to chew the fencing. Worth a try and they are not expensive
