I feed equimins advance complete to my cob and highland. Its relatively cheap and has made a big difference to my mares feet. Mine are on very restricted grazing so need to have this topped up. Some people strongly disagree, but all horses relying on hay or grass in the UK should be fed a mineral balancer like Equimins

Have you thought about feeding carob as a supplement, it has lots of vita and mins low sugar and starch, high fibre and no end of health benefits, my boys love it x could also offer them a Himalayan salt block .

Why would you feed carob/locust beans? Its high sugar, low protein and I cant find a decent analysis of it to look at the vitamin and mineral profile, but I'll hazard a wild guess that its not balanced to average grazing in the uk

The raw carob is full of goodness , since changing both my horses diet and using this, they haven't looked better, they are both a good weight, my sweet itch pony has never looked so well, he usually looks at grass and gains weight, since feeding this his weight has been very good, he usually suffers really bad with sweet itch and scratches himself raw, so far this year he has managed to go without a rug most of the time and wears no rug in the stable during the night with no itching so far, fingers crossed it continues. It took a bit of time to decide to make the change and lots of research, Im glad i did :)
