Okay so sorry this topic has been done an awful lot, I'll very much appreciate the help.

My 12 year old is coming back into work at the moment after a few years off (No error of his own)
He is 15.2hh and approx. 530kg. Good condition though needs to tone up which will come.

He's fed on mostly good quality hay from our fields from last year, I haven't yet had the nutrients tested.

He has a very small amount of Speedibeet & approx. .3kg of Dengie Hi Fi Lite & it's balancer so he can have his current breathing supplement on a night.

He is fed one 1000iu Vitamin E cap as he is fed on mostly hay.

I am unsure if he needs any more vitamins/minerals for coming back into work. He is a grey and currently malting so his coat isn't lovely and shiny just yet. He does occasionally lick mud.

I've seen things like the D&H Daily Vitamins & Minerals and have wondered about getting one for him, though I'm unsure if this is the way to go or if there are better powdered supplements out there?

First up - I'm no expert by any means, but are you planning to have your hay analysed? A lot of people on here have good things to say about the Forageplus service and products. www.forageplus.co.uk
Or if no analysis, you could look at Progressive Earth products (ebay only). I use their Pro Balance + which is very reasonably priced. Unlike most commercial balancers, their products are balanced to take account of known deficiencies in UK soil - so they are a good compromise if you haven't had an analysis done www.stores.ebay.co.uk/Progressive-Earth.
There are also plenty of previous posts/threads on here about balancers, so if you do a search on the names above you will find a lot of useful feedback on the products.
