I hope this doesnt come across as really dumb.

Has anyone experience of being a Volunteer Dog Walker for a Rescue Home ?
We have a centre in spitting distance (well it is if you are really good at spitting and the wind is in the right direction). I dont want to go and ask without knowing a little more.

I just want to ask the ins and outs of it really.

Do you have to do the smelly bits Kennel Cleaning etc or can you just offer your services as a walker ?

I have never owned a dog but have spent a lot of time with other peoples dogs. As I am not going to have a horse this winter I thought spending the odd morning walking a dog would help keep me fit as well as wet muddy and smelly which I miss.

I checked the website and then rang them - turned up the next day! They will probably be grateful for any help - but I'm sure the most useful is people who will help with everything.
I walked for my local rescue and also helped cleaning shitty pissy puppy farm dogs, and the puppy farm element was the most rewarding, conversely!
