hi all

i'm thinking of changing my car & there are good deals on the XC90, 2.5l diesel with a tow capacity of 2250kg

does anyone have one & tow with it & can advise on how well it is likely to cope with an ifor HB505 plus 1 550kg horse,(ie about 1500kg in total)

many thanks

We don't have a XC90 but have a V70 and it tows like a dream. We had a Discovery for years and it's not a patch on the Volvo. Hope this helps.

interesting that you rate the volve over the discovery as i've been a landrover devotee but spotted the XC90 deals whilst surfing to find land rover deals

We were told our V70 would only just manage a trailer, let alone a trailer with horses in!

LOL I know just what you mean. On long journeys with 1 pony on board, I ditch the Landrover and take the volvo estate instead, so much faster and comfier... Its just a shame they don't have the towing capacity of the Landrovers.

Technically max towing weight is @1700 kg but it will pull a Richardson trailer with two in and pulls like a dream. We also tow the caravan and reports state that Volvo Estates are the ultimate towing vehicle.
