Hi Jo,
It means Very Similar Dressage, I used to have one for working hunter and showing Jess in hunter classes but I used it for dressage too, They are not as straight cut as a dressage saddle and not as forward cut as a GP. I had a Ryder VSD and I loved it.
Hope you are ok, happy new year
Louise
Hi, Louise,
Happy New Year!
All went tits up over the last few days, William knocked my confidence badly, but today got back on top of it all.
Decided that he's worth another shot, so am looking at Dressage/ working hunter saddles as not sure what to do with him next year.( should say this year now lol)
Hope Jay is ok, have been following your post, when can he go out?
He's such a good boy really isn't he?
Hope your house move went ok, we are moving to a farm in the next month or so, so you will have to come and visit, can't believe how stressful it is !!
Speak soon Jo
I know how your feeling, well done for getting back on. Jay napped when I bought him and had me off, I tore my ligaments in my shoulder and was petrified getting back on. Looking back I was stupid, he was a very green pig headed 4 yr old and I thought I could cope, it was a battle of wills but we came through as Im sure you will.
Its getting hard now with Jay, hes feeling good and bored. Hes been excellent throughout all this but this walking lark isnt going well, we havent got off the yard yet! Been a bit down about it all today after this mornings disastrous attempt so none horsey hubby came with me tonight and he walked on one side of Jay with me on the other and Jay was an angel. Dont they make you out to be liars. Weve got at least another 5 weeks box rest yet, xrays next Monday and fingers crossed we can get rid of the evil cross ties!
Lucky you, your own farm. I'd love to come and see you once you get settled.
Take care
Louise
Just looked at the pics of the ideal saddles, mine was much straighter cut than that. Have a look at the Derby House Samber, my friend used to have one of them.
THe VSD is very slightly dressage - and is the continental name for the British Working Hunter. They are the same saddle but it is more fashionable to say you have a VSD than a Working hunter
