Hi,

I am currently thinking of buying one of these. Its an E reg. I wondered if they have a standard unladen weight for this model of horsebox or would each individual horsebox of this model differ?

Thanks in advance

the unladen weight will depend on the people who built it. The only way to tell, is to put it on a weighbridge. They were very good little lorries if they had a proper coachbuilt body on them. Because they had a twin rear axle, they were very stable. Many of them had a very decent weight carrying ability. I tried to buy one myself and did a lot of research, but couldn't find one that wasn't a rust bucket, so I gave up and got a new trailer instead.

They will depend on who converted them like BigRed says. I recently bought a Renault T35 3.5t & it is great but realistilcally I can only carry my 15.1hh cob on it.
I took it to a weigh bridge to get the unladen weight & I have 1.2t to play with. Which when you take into consideration you, diesel, water, hay, tack etc it doesnt leave a lot for the horse/s!!

I think some people forget this when they get them. I have seem people turn up to shows with 2 16 handers on them & just cringe!

Good luck with what ever you buy. They are so great to have :D

Thanks guys.

I thought this might be the case. I have contacted the seller to see if they have had it weighed and then go from there.
