VW lt35, anygood? or any other 3.5t boxes better?

Starting the search for a 3.5t horsebox and have looked at a ford transit and a VW lt35 so far. Ford was horrible (dodgy conversion i think

) but quite liked the VW that we saw this morning. So my question is are VW lt35 any good or have you got any other recommendations for a 3.5t on quite a tight budget?

transits are ok, but if your already having doubts about it I wouldnt go for another look.
They are pretty heavy-Whatever you get make sure you get it weighed so you know your limits my payload is only 800kg and mine is very very minimal-hunting box!
Also I tell eveyone this as it happened to me always check your wheel nuts as they come loose and i nearly lost my back axl-mechanics say its a trait of the transit not trying to scare you my transit is very good.
also its not worth getting any less than a 2.5 diesel...even mine struggles!

The VWLT would be my 3.5T of choice, I used to have an old bedford, which I rated, but I would have given my right arm for a VWLT.
 
The VW would be my choice - don't know much in terms of conversions etc but I know the engine will be much more reliable - and that's what you need.

When I'm ready to buy I'll be looking for a VW.
 
Hi,

Im 14 and take my pony showjumping.
We have a VWLT35 and its never let me down.
It always starts and had been very low maintenance.

If you need any more info just PM me and i'll ask my dad whatever you want.

I've got a VWLT35 and I love it

I specifically wanted one when I bought a lorry, and was lucky enough to find a really good example (although quite elderly in years) which I paid next to nothing for

I just really like the layout, suits me and little pony and two mad greyhounds really well

Payload for mine is just over 1,000kg (tested on a weighbridge etc)
 
Thank you all for your replies. Like i said, i liked the look of the one we saw this morning and hearing your replies i will definately be looking to pursue with the purchase of this one
