Does anyone have a little 2 horse 3.5 tonne Volkswagon LT35? Do people rate them? I am possibly going to look at one but am wondering if people have any experience of them, good or bad!

I've got an LT45 - it's 1983 so pretty old but it starts every time, hardly any rust on it and is lovely to drive

I'd like something more powerful if I had the money but it's fine for what I want

The guy who services it really likes it as well

What is the body like on the one you are looking at? Is it coachbuilt?

I had a j reg LT35 with an Ifor Wiliams back. It was very reliable and easy to drive. The only comment I would make is that the back was quite high so it wasn't as stable as bigger/lower lorries. It also had a bit of a lean with only one horse on. It was a diesel which was fine on the flat was pretty slow up hills.

I have one, a D reg (1987), agree it starts everytime, very reliable, very small amount of rust given it's age and very easy to drive, but yes it can be slow uphill.

Only thing I will say it to make sure that you are not going to be over weight as I can only just get away with having 2 small ones on board at once will all their gear!
